THE PARTY OF THE LEFT

Founded as a safe haven for radical political discussion in 2006, the Party of the Left is Yale‘s first and only leftist debate society. Our party welcomes all who wish to learn more about what the Left is as a project, its goals, and what our role in it is, and seeks to foster a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for all regardless of ethnicity, race, religion, gender, or sexuality.

Recently, the Party of the Left has debated the following resolutions:

R: The History of All Hitherto Existing Societies is the
History of Class Conflict
R: Arm the ICJ
R: Police Your Desires
R: Reconstruct the South (again)
R: Environmentalism over Industrialism

While our members come from around the world, from all walks of life, and from many schools of thought, we are united by a common belief: that a world beyond exploitation, prejudice, war, and environmental catastrophe is possible.

All those who share this belief, from the earliest of social revolutionaries to the community organizers of today, have had critical discussions surrounding the how, why, and what of change. Through spirited and genuine debate, our Party seeks to answer these questions and uplift our members‘ understanding of each others‘ ideas.
